Meeting of King Ibn Saud and King Farouk of Egypt at Radhwa - 3 Saudi ghirsh
This stamp commemorates a significant diplomatic event in the mid-20th century: the meeting between King Abdulaziz Al Saud and King Farouk of Egypt near Mount Radwa in January 1945. The central illustration provides a rare figurative landscape, depicting the royal encampment of traditional tents along the Red Sea coast, with steamships and dhows anchored in the background. This imagery symbolizes the bridge between ancient Arabian traditions and the modernizing world, as well as the burgeoning pan-Arab diplomatic relations following World War II. The royal tughra floats above the scene like a seal of authority, while the bilingual inscriptions in Arabic and French ("Reunion Royale Historique a Radwa") highlight the kingdom's growing visibility on the international stage. This issue celebrates a moment of regional solidarity and the prestige of the Saudi monarchy as a key player in Middle Eastern geopolitics.
