Arab League Week - 6 piastre
This commemorative postage stamp was issued in 1962 (AH 1381) by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as part of a regional diplomatic initiative to highlight inter-Arab solidarity. Releasing dedicated issues for regional organizations allowed the Saudi postal administration to emphasize its founding role within regional political institutions and reaffirm its commitment to pan-Arab economic, cultural, and political cooperation. The issue was released to mark Arab League Week (Usbu' al-Da'wah al-Arabiyah), an observance intended to promote regional unity and public awareness of the Arab League's collective missions. Founded in Cairo in March 1945 with Saudi Arabia as one of its charter member states, the organization served as the primary diplomatic forum for coordinating policy, mediating disputes, and strengthening joint regional interests across the Middle East and North Africa.
